from soup to nuts at Table7

I’ve been wanting to post about Table7 Events, Inc. for quite some time now. Stephanie L. Hassan came to me in October 2011 in need of a complete brand – from logo to web – for her Fullerton, CA event planning company. Little did I know that this was about to become one of my all-time favorite branding projects – from start to finish.

Stephanie is so much more than an event planner. She is a wedding coordinator, corporate event planner, and event stylist. She is a crafty lady who embraces DIY projects and turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. She is trendy, honest, creative and inventive – all qualities that any bride or client (or graphic designer for that matter) would love.
After we created a logo, watermark, color palette, background patterns, business card, postcards, splash page and website, Stephanie took her brand to the next level with a custom blog on blogger. I already love her stylish posts and DIY instructions!

Thank you Stephanie for trusting me with your vision and developing your brand.
A toast to Table7 for years of success!

And if you are in the market for a new identity or brand make-over, give me a shout and I will be more than happy to give you a quote. I absolutely love branding...

go on...be a (social) tease

If you haven’t heard of the Social Tease line of shirts yet, you need to be checking out this site. Orange County local, Nancy Chapman, is the creator and sole proprietor of Social Tease. Social Tease’s mission is giving back one tee at a time by donating 25% of the proceeds from the profits of each tee to animal rescue and conservation groups” and they do this through great design and faboulous shirts. Nancy asked if I would design a couple of shirts (Cougar and Puppy Love) for her t-shirt line as well as designing her Big Cartel website, I “pounced” at the opportunity.

From the site: Social Tease is a lifestyle brand designed to make a positive difference. Founded by Nancy Chapman, a lifelong animal lover with sartorial flair to spare, Social Tease is the inspired result of her twin passions for environment and fashion.
Nancy’s volunteer work at a local animal shelter motivated her first line of Tee’s, “Save A Life, Adopt A Pet.” Working with like-minded designers who embraced her vision of making a difference, Social Tease came to be with six designs which include the most popular – “Prejudice is the Pits.” Notable for their stylish designs and positive, pro-active messages, Social Tease has been embraced by a growing audience of socially conscious clients of all ages.
Thank you Nancy for letting me work with you and your inspiring brand! And although my recent birthday may suggest otherwise, I have never really considered myself a Cougar…but for you…I’ll be a Cougar who makes a difference.

You can find Social Tease at www.socialtease.org and
It’s retail therapy that makes you feel good for giving back.

brand new: produce wellness

Southern California Holistic Health Counselor Jennifer Barnett needed a new look to launch her coaching business and website, Produce Wellness (love the name by the way). Naturally, she came to My Design Booth. Well, maybe not naturally, but I can play with words too. She wanted to give her new brand identity a retro feel that resembled an illustrated label you would see on a fruit crate. I designed script-based logos and supported them with produce images, and I think the final version is clean and fresh.

And hey, it's the new year and time to make those healthy resolutions. Contact Jennifer and learn how a health counseler (or coach) can help you to improve your health and happiness. Or just visit her site, www.producewellness.com. Jennifer has great info, tips and recipes to help you feel your best this year!

oh what a year!

Before the year ends, I wanted to get in one more post and also get a jump start on my New Year's resolution to blog more. We'll see if this resolution lasts longer than my gym membership.

In 2010, I was asked to design the 60th Anniversary pin for the Linden, California Lions pin. This was a great honor for me as my family is heavily involved with Lions Clubs International. In fact, my cousin was just elected President for his chapter. And I thought this to be a fitting post to end the year as we both had a memorable 2011! Bob was not only elected President, but he and his beautiful wife also welcomed their precious son Robby in July. Go Bob!

Have a wonderful 2012 everyone! See you next year!

season's greetings

I hope everyone had a truly wonderful Christmas holiday. I am already going through Christmas withdrawals. December 25th came and went too fast this year.

Each winter season brings a new batch of Holiday Card designs but one will always stand out as my favorite. I had the distinct honor again this year to design the Christmas Card for Robert and Shannon Jordan and they once again rank as the Coolest Couple at Christmas. Shannon called me up in November wanting to know how hard it would be to design a caricature of them for the card. I really didn't know.  I had never done a card like that before. Turns out that it was a lot harder than I expected, but oh so fun! I love being able to bring their vision to life. And I can't wait to see what they come up with next year!
